What to Expect

Please visit our blog for the most current clinic protocols regarding appointments, food/medication pick up and changes to business hours.

In your search for a veterinary facility, we believe you should expect high quality care as well as great service. Our goal has been to assemble a veterinary health care team committed to providing exceptional client service and veterinary health care. Our commitment to you is to continue to offer our world class service and a state of the art veterinary facility.

Your pet’s annual vet check-up will include a total physical exam, with a thorough investigation of your pet, from nose to tail.

It’s a good idea to keep an accurate medical diary not only of the procedures and vaccinations your pet receives at the vet, but also of notes on things like your pet’s elimination habits and any physical changes or unusual occurrences. Keep track of small shifts in your pet’s behavior, including urinary marking habits and mood swings, along with diet and routine modifications. Take this notebook when you visit the vet. These seemingly unrelated occurrences may help explain results of your pet’s medical tests.

Our veterinarians are calm, compassionate and willing to explain all the procedures your pet undergoes. Our veterinarians want you to feel comfortable and confident that our doctors and staff have your pets’ best interests at heart.

Dr. Zieman, Dr. Ford, or Dr. Hanson may refer you to a specialist if the issues your pet is experiencing are beyond the capacity of our clinic or require a  veterinarian who has completed advanced studies in these particular areas such as internal medicine, surgery, and emergency care, if your pet must undergo a procedure that requires more precise knowledge and experience.

If you are a new client and have specific questions or concerns, please call to speak with one of our knowledgeable team members.

For your pet’s first visit:

1. Please review our New Patient Pre-Payment Policy below. You will need to call our office to schedule your pet’s initial appointment.

2. Please fill out our New Patient Form. If you are unable to complete this form ahead of time, you may fill out the form when you arrive for your pet’s appointment.

3. Bring with or email any previous veterinary/medical history, including most recent vaccinations/testing.

4. If your pet is due for an intestinal parasite test, please bring a fresh stool sample.

* Please adhere to our cancellation/late policy.  Our appointment times are specifically scheduled to give you the most valuable amount of time with our doctors and technicians.  While we will work with you regarding appointment time flexibility, we do respectfully request that if you feel you will be more than 10 minutes late, that you reschedule your appointment.

New Patient Pre-Payment Policy

We are excited that you have chosen Anderson Lakes Animal Hospital for your pet’s medical care!

When you contact our office to schedule your pet’s initial appointment, our staff will request pre-payment for our exam fee at the time of scheduling. This pre-payment will be applied as a credit towards your pet’s first appointment with Anderson Lakes Animal Hospital.

On the day of scheduling the appointment, you have until the end of that business day to make changes to your appointment date or time.

In the event that you notify us that you need to reschedule or cancel your pet’s appointment or in the event of a no-show, no-call, this pre-payment will be forfeit to Anderson Lakes Animal Hospital and will no longer apply to any future appointments that are scheduled. A new pre-payment will need to be paid in order to reschedule your pet’s appointment in this circumstance.

Our office provides a courtesy reminder call or email (depending on your preference) 48 business hours prior to your pet’s scheduled appointment. Even if you are unable to be reached through any of your preferred means of communications, this policy remains in effect.

We request that all previous medical records for your pet be emailed to us no later than 48 hours prior to your pet’s initial appointment. Records should be emailed to andersonlakesah@gmail.com or faxed to 952-942-5548.

This policy is effective April 26th, 2022. We greatly appreciate your understanding of this policy and look forward to serving you and supporting the health of your pet.
