"Maggie" Kuhl

Maggie left this world peacefully on June 23, 2008 on Kathy's lap. Her owners, Tom and Kathy wrote a beautiful letter to memorialize her.

"She was our personal trainer, our nurse, our assistant chef, our personal bed-warmer, my main photography subject, Tom's first-mate of the Regal Boat, and co-captain for every trip to St. Louis. She was our therapist when we had a bad day, she was my partner in crime (she knew every new shoe I bought and never told Tom), she was Tom's right-hand for every home improvement project (although they never did manage to fix the dryer).

She was also the star of our own sitcom-she managed to inject enough chaos to keep us on our toes and keep us laughing...from every up-rooted houseplant, to eating the couch, to her diarrhea blow out at Hardee's in Mexico, MO (and the one at the Flying J in Iowa, and the one during a dinner party)...we should have re-though her diet, I guess.

She kept us humble, while teaching us patience (A LOT of patience!!). She taught us to live in the moment-to live each day as a new day and to make time to roll in the grass, chase bird shadows, play in the sprinkler, go for a swim or just run circles in the yard.

So many of you knew Maggie so well and have your own stories, so we really want to Thank You so much for the help you have provided over the years in caring for Maggie. As Tom and I have said so many times - it took a village. So Thank you to all of you!
